I have information from an early death index that a John W. TIMMONS died in Polk Co. Oregon on Sept. 17, 1916. I would like any information on this man that might be available. Was the Tessie Florence that is listed with him, his wife? He could be my great grand father that was born in Ross Co Ohio in 1844, who moved to Illinois in the 1850's then on to Iowa in the 1860's and on to Kansas in 1880's and finally to Pottawatomie Co. Okla in the late 1890's. He was with my grandparents in 1900 in Shawnee Okla in 1900. My father was born in Wyoming in 1910. John Wesley could have gone on to Oregon where he had cousins and uncles who had changed their name to McTIMMONDS. Thanks for your assistance in this matter. Bill Timmons, Talihina, Oklahoma -

Am actively looking for the descendants of Johann E. PETERS (1865-1955) and Elizabeth DYCK/DUECK (1869-1946). Both were born in Southern Russia to Mennonite families and immigrated to Canada in 1876. Through a series of interesting travels they found themselves in Oregon, and became associated with the Apostolic Church on Church Street in Dallas. I have reason to believe that they lived next door to it.
Their surviving children were:
Helena (m. Gerhard Giesbrecht)
Johann (m. Lula Bowes)
Agatha (m. Ernest Wiebe)
Mary (m. Ora Janes)
Susana (m. Bert Penner).
I have quite a bit of information on the descendants of Johan E. PETERS' siblings (who all stayed in Canada), as well as as Helena (m. to G Giesbrecht), but would love to connect with other researchers interested in and/or knowledgeable in the other lines that stayed in Oregon. I know that some of the above children moved to Portland, Medford, Terrebone, and other places in Oregon. Some moved on to California as well. - Judith Rempel

Neil E. Barber Fri Jul 4 12:55:35 1997
Hiram A. BARBER, b. 6 May 1853 in Ripon, Fond du Lac Co., Wisconsin, was the brother of my grandfather. The BARBER family came from Wisconsin in the mid-1800s, having previously lived in Lee Center, Oneida County, New York. Hiramís parents, Stephen Kellogg BARBER and Mary Jane McFARLAND, and his brother, Edward, settled in the vicinity of Reno, Nevada. Hiram is said to have moved to Southern California, and my information concerning him is very sketchy. I don't know when or to whom he was married; his children were: James Leon BARBER, b. 23 Oct 1881, d. 1966, who lived in Rialto, San Bernardino Co., CA; Edith BARBER (died as a child); Edward BARBER, who lived in Glenwood, Klickitat Co., WA near Mt. Adams; Ralph BARBER, who lived in Independence, Polk Co., OR; and John Emmett BARBER, who lived in Everett, Snohomish Co., WA. I am seeking any information which can be obtained about Hiram, his family, and his descendants. Thank you. Neil Barber -

I have not been able to find any trace of these two people, my g.grandparents, between Jackson Co in 1880 census and postmaster and store owner in Wallowa Co about 1910.
