Susannah Lee Barlow

Susannah Lee was born in Charleston, South Carolina, March 17, 1791. She was the daughter of Captain William Lee, born in Ireland, and a Revolutionary War hero. Her mother was Susannah Chaffing.

Shortly after the close of the Revolutionary War, Susannah's father and mother moved to Kentucky and then later to the Indiana frontier where she met and married Samuel Kimbrough Barlow in 1820. To this union four sons and two daughters were born.

In the spring of 1845, when Susannah was 54 years old, the Barlow family left for the Oregon Territory. They arrived in Oregon City on December 25, 1845.

Susannah Lee Barlow died on December 24, 1852.
