PROLOGUE: All together it seems that the owner of the album was Lizzie, probably Elizabeth Raynes as her son was named Raynes or Raines. (citation needed) Lizzie had this album, but used it as an autograph book. She mailed it around to friends and relatives who lived within 50 miles of Forest Grove, to write their note and sign their name, and return the book. It will be interesting to hear if anyone in this area recognizes the hand writing and surnames of their pioneer ancestors.
