Shelley said: I've "rescued" an old photograph of a man identified as Mike FOSTER which was taken at the New York Gallery in Portland, Oregon. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Mike likely in his 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. In addition to his name, someone has written "Mrs. M. FOSTER, Middleton, near depot" and "16x20 crayon $1.98" as if an additional copy of this photograph was being order in crayon. I believe that "Middleton" is a reference to the town of Middleton, Oregon. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following census information regarding the family: 1900 census of W. Cedar Creek, OR: Mike FOSTER, age 46, born 1853, born Germany, parents born Germany, to USA 1870, a Day Laborer Katrina FOSTER, mother, age 82, born Oct 1817, a widow, 7 children/3 living, born Germany, parents born Germany, to USA 1880 Margaret FOSTER, sister, age 43, born Sept 1856, born Germany, parents born Germany, to USA 1880 1910 census of W. Cedar, OR: Mike FOSTER, age 56, born Germany, parents born Germany, to USA 1870, a Farmer Margaret FOSTER, sister, age 53, born Germany, parents born Germany, to USA 1885 I am hoping to locate someone from this FOSTER Family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
