Ships Passenger Lists to New YorkSearch for ancestors in passenger lists sailing on the ship Ship Gessner From Bremerhaven To New York 16 May 1872 The "Gessner" skippered by Captain H. Christofferson, Master, was a sailing vessel which held 372 passengers on that trip. The passage which took at least eight weeks, ended in New York City on May 16, 1872. During this Gessner voyage, seventeen fellow passengers died, ten of whom were under one year of age, but the balance were adults. In addition, five children were born on the two month long voyage.
