Annie Whiteman
Annie passed away on December 16, 2007. She will be missed. Check back often, as I plan on uploading any and all files that Annie had been working on, to this page.
Nancy L. "Annie" Whiteman, 60, 1641 St. Francis Lane, Altoona, died
unexpectedly Sunday morning at her residence.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of Alfred and Naomi (Mellot) Fuchs. Her
mother preceded her in death. She married Raymond J. Whiteman Dec. 22, 1965,
at Grace Bible Church.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters: Kayla Detwiler and husband, Ed, of
Duncansville and Kerry Roesch and husband, Brian, of Middletown, Del.; her
father of Harrisburg, Ill.; and two brothers: David Fuchs and Ken Fuchs,
both of Duncansville. She was known as "Gumby" to her eight grandchildren:
Colin Brinkhoff, Conor Brinkhoff, Reid Brinkhoff, Torey Roesch, Mara Roesch,
Nathan Detwiler, Cassie Detwiler and Bailey Detwiler.
Annie had a great love for her family and grandchildren. She had been the
former librarian and member of the Blair County Genealogical Society and
director of the PA Genealogical Web site, GenWeb. Annie was a volunteer at
the Women's Homeless Shelter.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Plank, Stitt and
Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg (www.pssfh.com).
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at
Grandview Cemetery.
