Recently the roof in the Family History Room started to cave in, and plaster was falling on the genealogy file cabinets. Water was gushing all over the place. Much to our dismay the same thing was happening in the Library near the entrance to the Archives. It was frightening because our most cherished collections are the genealogy, archival, and photo materials.
A Board meeting was called, and the decision was made to replace the roof and repair all the leaking valleys and gutters. Costs are ranging between $20,000 and $25.000.
The Board immediately established a special fund raising committee to seek money for the roof replacement.
For anything anyone can do for us financially, we would appreciate it tremendously.
Every time it rains, the sound of the drip, drip, drip in the buckets haunts us.
