Robert L. Hicks, farmer, P.O. Dent's Run, Elk county, was born March 21, 1860, in what is now known as Gibson township, Cameron Co., PA, on the farm where he now resides, and is a son of Levi and Olive J. (Whalen) Hicks. His paternal grandparents were John C. and Mary E. (Conway) Hicks, and his great-grandfather was Levi Hicks, who settled in Gibson township in 1804. The father of Robert L. was a farmer by occupation, who cleared the farm now occupied by his son, and died there. His children were: Robert L., John R., and William J. (deceased). Robert L. Hicks has always lived on the old homestead, and is one of the prominent young farmers of the township; politically he is a Republican.
