D Burlingame, farmer, post office Sizerville, was born in Keating township, McKean County Pennsylvania, September 22, 1829, the second son in a family of five children of Isaac end Sophronia Burlingame, natives of New York State who came to Pa. In 1819. When 15 years old he started in life on his own account, and worked for farmers until 21, when he bought a piece of land in Hamlin Township, McKean County, and began to clear of timber, which he converted into lumber. He afterward sold this land and bought the Homestead of the Hiram Sizer estate where he now lives. His been successful in his farming, and now owns one of the best houses in Portage township. Mr. Burlingame was married January 24th 1855 to Miss Elvira Sizer, a daughter of Hiram and Polly Sizer, natives of Massachusetts. That a family of six children: Homer D., Verna E., Sidney S., Buell W., Rosa A., and F E. Mr. Burlingame is a popular citizen of this township, and has held various official positions.
