Welcome to the website of the Centre County Genealogical Society, a dedicated group of genealogists with a Centre County connection. A non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the society strives to serve its members and the public through informative meetings and workshops, a quarterly newsletter, and the publication of various types of county records. All meetings are free and open to the public and are held September to June, usually on the first Thursday of the month. Special events such as our Annual Family Heritage Afternoon at the Grange Fair and genealogy workshops are held throughout the year.

History: Now more than 30 years old, the Centre County Genealogical Society held its first meeting in December of 1975 as the Central Pennsylvania Genealogical Society and Library. A few years later, the group's books were donated to the local LDS Church to provide the nucleus of its genealogy library, and our current name was adopted as it better reflected our interests. Today, the society has more than 250 active members living around the world.
