Comments: I am looking for John Spayd who was born in Pennsylvania and I found him in the 1880 Census in Centre County. In that census he is a widow of Julia Yearick Spayd. Then after 1880 he married Alice Stover who is buried in Stover Cemetery. I am also looking for his son Albert H. who I found in the 1930 Centre County Census. --------------------------------------------------

Comments: The Baker family spent about 60-odd years in Howard (1820-1870+). The family is descended from Jacob Becker of Baden, Germany. I am a great-grandson of Hiram Baker, who taught school around Howard in the 1820's and clerked at the Curtin Ironworks, and had episodic problems with his eyes. I believe I sent you a copy of the "Baker Ancestry" in its current form of several years ago. If you do not have it I will send you a more current copy, a not necessarily more complete copy, as a PDF on a CD. I was in Howard last Jun 1st, and it being Sunday, was able only to orient myself, as the last time I was there was 1947. I believe the family house was that which still stands at the corner of Baker St. I am also interested in the Muffly, Pletcher (not very much), Arnold, Mains (what happened to the Mains?) families primarily for now. Good to talk with you, Chuck Baker --------------------------------------------------
