Comments: I am a direct descendant of Guyan and Elizabeth Irvin who are buried in the old Centre Hall rural cemetary. His daughter Nancy Davis remained in the area after my grgrgrgrgrandfather, John Wilson Irvin, moved to Shannon Il. The family later moved to Kansas. My grandfather, Matthew Riddle Irvin, moved to Sheridan Wy in the early 1900's and met and married Willie Edmona Babb in 1913. They later moved to Long Beach CA where he owned a grocery store. He passed away in 1951 in Long Beach and my grandmother died in 1975 in Stockton. My mother, Sarah Ruth Wasson, was born in Sheridan WY. She passed away in 2001 in York PA. So, the circle is now complete. I'm living just several counties over from where my first ancestors settled in Centre County PA. I'm especially interested in finding out the names of Guyan's parents and where they are buried. Guyan had two brothers: John and William. What little information I have regarding their parents puts their last years and burial place in Lewistown, Mifflin County, PA. Thank you.

Comments: My great- grandparents, George Graham, Sr. and Barbara Milbourne, became residents of Centre County in 1830 - coming from England. He is written about in a Centre County History. They moved to Iowa in the 1860's but his brother, Edward, and his family remained in Centre County. Thanks to GenWeb and these wonderful County sites, descendants from five of George and Barbara's ten children have "found" each other and are enjoying sharing data and getting acquainted. Thanks for all your work making this possible. --------------------------------------------------

Comments: This is not a bad start but it is a long way from being useful to a researcher. You must visit some other sites and compare yourself to those. Potter County's Enchanted Mountains, Cameron County's site, Tri-Counties, all are way out in front. You need a search engine for your site so a surname can be quickly sourced. You need transcribed cemetery listings and all census lists transcribed. This is hard work and is done exclusively by volunteers, but it is getting done. In Cameron County volunteers tramped the ancient buriel grounds and systematically listed names, dates and relationships from each stone. They are all available on line. Some very nice digital photos of the final resting places of honored dead. All accomplished with love and respect. Those site are treasuries of information. Deeds, wills, and other vital courthouse records have been transcribed from the originals. Precious sources of information all available with magical ease though a keyboard thousands of miles away. Please visit those sites. By the way, the Cameron County Website is operated by a native of Emporium, PA who lives and works in Georgia. It is a work of love and only a spare time enterprise to him but it never stops improving. Warmest Regards Peter Huot --------------------------------------------------

Comments: You have a really nice sight but I want to give you some informaton on my family. My great great grandfather was Samuel Franklin Spayd. He was born in 1864 in Centre County, Pennsylvannia. His father was John Spayd and his mother Julia (Yearick) Spayd. We found John in the 1880 census as a widower so Julia died before 1880 although we found out John had another wife Alice. John was born in 1838 in Pennsylvania and that is all we know. I am happy I found this sight off PAGenWeb. It is really nice.

Comments: Just starting to gather family history on Jenkins-Heidler, Pennsylvania, Center County, Sandy Ridge. Have traced Jenkins/Bateman, Pennsylvania, Clearfield County, Houtzdale, Brisbin back to 1850. Jenkins to Wales and Bateman have been in Pa. back beyond 1850. Question - Harmsk was a female name that was changed to Anna in 1900. Is Harmsk Bateman Pa. Dutch? PS- I think your site is GREAT!
