Centre County Lookups & Researchers

If you are unable to visit the genealogy research facilities located in Centre County, there are several alternatives to help you.

The Pennsylvania Room of the Centre County Library and Historical Museum in Bellefonte houses a huge collection of genealogical and resources. The staff of the Pennsylvania Room can assist in brief lookups and limited research. Brief, simple lookups are free of charge, however, for obituary requests, etc. there is a small charge. Ellen Copper will do research in Centre County and the surrounding counties (Blair, Clearfield, Huntingdon, Mifflin). She is a member of National Genealogical Society, Ohio Genealogical Society, DAR, and numerous county societies in PA and OH. Her fee structure is an hourly fee, plus mileage, photocopy costs, and any library usage fees, however she will also provide tombstone photos and obituaries on a non-hourly, individual basis. He has traveled throughout Blair, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Union Counties. Nancy Lee Stover, a long-time Centre County resident and genealogical researcher, will look for specific details on request or more complete family genealogical information. She prefers Centre County research, but will travel to surrounding counties for additional information. She is knowledgeable of the Daughters of the American Revolution documentation standards for admission to their Society. As an option, she offers an introductory research package for $35.00 to include one hour of research, mailed copies of information found, and an assessment as to what additional research may be helpful.
