This book, History of Columbia and Montour Counties, Pennsylvania, edited by: J. H. Battle, 1887, has tons of information. This site does not contain a complete copy of this book though. What it does contain are the portions of the book that deal with the local histories of Columbia County's Townships. Many of these histories include the names of Columbia County's earliest settlers. Some families are only mentioned briefly, while others receive more attention. I hope you are able to find someone you are looking for.

NOTE: Some townships are combined into chapters. Therefore, each township may not start on a full page. You may find the same page numbers on two different townships. It doesn't mean that there is an error. I've included the page numbers in case you want to refer to a page in the book. Also, when a sketch is included, a history may appear to be missing a page. This is not the case though. The book puts a blank page on the reverse side of the sketch.
