Tuesday  9-3      Thursday  9-7:30     Friday  9-3     Saturday 9-12:30

The Society will be closed for Thanksgiving (Nov. 23-27), Christmas (Dec. 21-25), and New Year's (Dec. 28 - Jan. 1.) They will reopen on Tuesday, January 2.

If you are travelling from a distance, you may want to call their answering machine at (570)784-1600,
to make sure there have been no changes in the hours they are open.

New Membership rates in effect for 1999. They will be as follows:

The Columbia County Historical & Genealogical Society is located on the second floor of the new addition at the
Bloomsburg Public Library, in Room 207. An elevator is available.
The Bloomsburg Public Library is located at 225 Market Street in Bloomsburg.

What are their hours?

Their Winter hours, beginning September 8, 1999 will be Tuesdays 9-3, Thursdays 9-7:30, Fridays 9-3 and Saturday 9-12:30.

They will be closed the following weeks -- Thanksgiving (Nov. 23-27), Christmas (Dec. 21-25) and New Year's (Dec. 28 - Jan.1). Will reopen Tuesday, January 4, 2000.

Do they charge a fee?

Effective February 1, 1998, the fees will be as follows:

$15 for the first hour of research, payable before research begins
$10 for each hour or part hour of research after that
$0.30 per copy

They will bill you for copies, which will be sent after payment is received.

While the fees have increased, it is still reasonable if you can't get there yourself. All workers are volunteers, so the money is put back into maintaining the Historical & Genealogical Society and purchasing new resources. Click HERE for a copy of their research form.
