TAX LISTS
Many people were living in the Columbia County area before Columbia County even existed. Augusta, Wyoming and Turbut Townships of Northumberland County, 1772, covered the area now known as Columbia County. As time passed, those townships were divided and new townships were created. The following are some tax lists which cover the area which later became Columbia County in 1813. Maybe you can find an ancestor or two listed. If you have similar information, drop me a note if you would like to contribute the information you have.
