James B. Anderson reports himself being born in PA, his father born in Delaware, and mother born in Ireland in various census reports. However, his son Lincoln Linmore Anderson, reports his father (James) being born in Scotland in a couple of his census reports.
In the 1840 Census, James & Isabella Anderson were residing in Greenfield Twp, Bedford County, Pa. In 1850, they resided in Jefferson Twp, Allegheny Co., Pa., where James was a carpenter by trade.
James and Isabella had five children to their union, Corporal Moses D. Anderson, Mary J., Mariah, George W., and Elizabeth.
Sometime between 1850-1860, Isabella had passed away and James relocated to Monroe Twp, Clarion Co., Pa. where he resided with his second wife, Margaret J. Maxwell (born Nov 1831 in Ireland; died 1900 in Curllsville). Here, James was a wagon maker by trade. James and Margaret had 12 children to their union: John, James, David M., William H., Robert, Lincoln Linmore, Annie B., Sarah J., Elizabeth, Ulysses Grant, Emma M., and Herman.
Sometime between 1860-1870, James Anderson bought from Major Means the land known as the McCurdy home in Curllsville, Clarion Co., Pa. Here he built a home and wagon shop which he and his son, Moses, operated. Later, Moses built a shop on the location of the A.L. Shook garage, he worked with the Jones brothers and painted wagons, buggies and carriages in the second floor of their shop, located in Curllsville, PA. He also had a wagon shop in Sligo.
During the 1880 census, James was a farmer in Piney Twp, with a general disability.
James passed away sometime between the 1880-1900 census period. During 1900, Margaret (widowed) was residing in Curllsville Borough with her son, David M. Anderson.

James married (1) Isabella about 1835. Isabella was born about 1820 in Pennsylvania. She died about 1850 in Allegheny or Clarion Co PA. They had the following children: + 2 M i. Corporal Moses D. Anderson was born in 1837. He died on 17 Feb 1888. 3 F ii. Mary J. Anderson was born in 1841. 4 F iii. Mariah Anderson was born in 1844. 5 M iv. George W. Anderson was born in 1845. 6 F v. Elizabeth Anderson born1 1849 in Jefferson, Allegheny, PA. She died in 1850. James married (2) Margaret J. Maxwell about 1850. Margaret was born2 in Nov 1831 in Ireland. She died in 1900 in Curllsville, Monroe, Clarion, PA. According to the 1860 census, Margaret would have had to have been 8 at the time of son, Moses' birth. She is apparently a second wife to James?! In the 1900 census, she reports having 10 children, six of whom are living. This would indicate that she is not the mother of James' first 4-5 children. She also reports having been married for 35 years, which would have put her married in 1865, which would be prior to some of her children's births. Something with her dates is not coinciding. According to the 1860 census, she was born in 1826. In the 1870 census, she would have been born in 1832. In the 1880 census, she would have been born in 1822. In the 1900 census, she would have again been born in 1832. HELP!!!! Her maiden name was Maxwell per Lincoln Linmore Anderson's SSDI in CA. 1860 Census: born 1826. 1870 Census: born 1832. 1880 Census: born 1822. 1900 Census: born 1832

Edward "Samuel" Craig was a well known and highly respected young man of Sligo, and a consistent member of the Sligo Presbyterian Church, having united with the church during the pastorate of Rev. Ardo P. Bittinger. He will be sadly missed in the home and community. The lovely and loving brother and friend died where manhood's morning almost touches noon, and while the shadows still were falling toward the west. He had not passed, on life's highway, the stone that marks its highest point; but, being weary for a moment he laid down by the wayside and, using his burden for a pillow, fell into that dreamless sleep that kisses down his eyelids still. While yet in love with life and raptured with the world, he passed to silence and pathetic dust. Service was in charge of Rev. C.L. McCoy, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment was made in the Sligo Cemetery. -A friend (newspaper obituary) Samuel was never married.
