By a very sad accident in the mine of Huey, this county, the life of Walter Clyde Wilson was crushed out in a moment. It appears that he was switching a car in the mine last Saturday, Dec. 19, 1914, and the car jumped the track and jammed him against the rib and broke his neck, killing him instantly. It is said that there was no chance for a man to get away from cars at that point in the mine. The deceased was born Aug. 16, 1887, in Sligo. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Wilson, his mother, four brothers and one sister. The funeral was held at Sligo M.E. church, the pastor, Rev. C.M. Haines, conducting the services, and interment was made in the Sligo cemetery. Source: December 24, 1914 Clarion Democrat.
