Mrs. Reese suffered very little especially in her later days and in quietness slept peacefully into the beyond. Nancy J. Dixon was born at Jacksonville, Indiana County, Pa., a daughter of William and Eliza Dixon, and a sister of the late James A. Dixon of Clarion. She lived for many years at Piney, Clarion County, but twenty years or more ago removed with her husband to Shippenville, where she has since made her home. She was united in marriage Nov. 24, 1859, at Piney, Pa., to Mr. Andrew J. Reese, who preceded her in death about 15 years ago. She is survived by the following children: W. A. Reese, Richwood, W. Va.; Mrs. E. L. Owens, Venus; Mrs. F. W. WaIters, McDonald; Mrs. D. L. Elliott, Callensburg; F. W. Reese, Sligo; Mrs. J. Clark Weels, Vandergrift Heights, and Miss Annie Reese, at home. Thirty two grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive her. In early life the deceased prepared herself for teaching and was a successful school teacher in Clarion County as long as she taught. She was an unusually intelligent young woman and she kept well informed by careful reading even in her later years. When eight years old she joined the Evangelical Christian Church, but afterwards became a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, with which communion she was associated until her demise, being a member of Mt. Zion Church at Shippenville. Her funeral was held at Shippenville last Tuesday, Jan. 5th, the services being conducted by Rev. L. H. Rehmeyer, assisted by Rev. Swarmer of the M. E. Church. The body was then taken to Callensburg for interment. January 6, 1921 Clarion Democrat.

REICHARD, AGNES (ARMAGOST) — One of the finest Christian ladies it has ever been the writer’s privilege to know, has been called hence and those who knew her, mourn. Cousin Aggie, as we always called her, was called to her long home on Friday morning early Sept. 17, 1926. Of late years she had been making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Males of DuBois, Mrs. Males being her only daughter. Agnes (Armagost) Reichard was born in August, 1853, at Squirrel Hill, this county, and was a daughter of Thomas and Susannah (Hepler) Armagost. When 13 years of age she became a member of the German Reformed church at Squirrel Hill and remained a member till the day of her death. When 22 years of age she was united in marriage to Jackson Reichard and the happy young couple made their home near Smithland. To this union three children, Mattie, Carl and Thomas, were born, all of whom survive. Mr. Reichard preceded his wife in death several years ago. Besides her immediate family she is also survived by two brothers and four sisters, namely, W. M. Armagost, Rimersburg; H. S. Armagost, New Bethlehem; Mrs. Lizzie Mohney, New Bethlehem; Mrs. Chrissie Fox, Curllsville; Mrs. Nettie Slaugenhoupt, Kennewick, Wash., and Mrs. Mattie Polliard, Los Angeles, Cal. About two weeks ago, Mrs. Reichard sustained a stroke of paralysis from which she never rallied. Her body was prepared for burial and brot overland to Squirrel Hill where services were held in the Reformed church and were conducted by Rev. Mr. Crum of DuBois; after which interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. The funeral was largely attended by the entire countryside.  New Bethlehem Vindicator, 1926. REICHARD, ARTHUR P. Again death's messenger has been in our midst and removed from among us a well-known citizen whose death is regretted by all, and causes a feeling of sorrow to pervade the community where he was so favorably known. On March 9th, 1896, Arthur P. Reichard, after patiently enduring great bodily suffering, passed to his eternal reward. The cause of his death was, consumption. Shortly before death came to relieve his pain he passed into that sweet sleep which wraps all that is mortal of man into its dreamy embrace, while every care and pain are banished from this weary tenement of clay, but alas, before the messenger had relinquished its hold upon the frail body the spirit had fled to the great beyond, leaving the body to return to dust. The remains were conveyed to Zion graveyard on Wednesday ,11th, and committed to their final resting place, and whither they were followed by a sorrowing concourse of relatives and friends. The services were conducted by Rev. Hunsicker, of Curllsville, assisted by Rev. Kirschner, of St. Petersburg, who preached from the text: "He being dead, yet speaketh." Deceased was a member of the Reformed church. Although his life was but short in God's service he gave evidence of his sacrifice being acceptable unto God, and many were the friends whom he took by the hand and pleaded with them not be as he had been in putting off so great a salvation so long. The deceased was in the 42nd year of his age and leaves a wife and two children, to whom is extended the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their time of sorrow. For consolation we can but refer them to the words found in the above text. (Mt. Zion, Piney Township Item)  Clarion Democrat, Mary 19, 1896.
