DEATH
OF B. W. BAKER
Mr. B.W. Baker, mention
of whose serious illness has been noted in these columns, died at his home
in Summerhill on Monday, of heart disease in the 78th year of his age. His
health had been poor for several months and his death was not unexpected
Deceased was born in Vermont but came West at an early age, settling at
Garretsville, Ohio, where he was married March 16th, 1837, to Miss
Belinda Dunn, who survives him. They came to Summerhill in 1858
where the remainder of his life was spent. Four children survive him,
Mrs. C. Southwick, of Louisville, Kentucky; Mrs.
A. F. Ammon of Cleveland, and Justin L. and
James D. both of Summerhill. Mrs. Southwick
was unable to be present at the funeral, but visited her father during his
illness. He was one of the oldest members of the Western Crawford Masonic
Lodge and Oriental Chapter of this place, and was buried with honors of
the order, Rev. C.L. Shipman, of Girard,
officiating, and a large concourse of the fraternity and relatives and
friends following the remains to the grave.
Baker.—In Summerhill,
Oct. 20th, 1884, of dropsy of the heart, Benjamin
Wooster Baker, aged 77 years, 4 months and 14 days.
