Other frequently asked questions about the cemetery section.

The cemetery my ancestors are buried in isn't listed.  Can I still send in an Add-A-Grave?  Certainly, send in the Add-A-Grave, and we'll add the page for the cemetery.

Why can't you just copy all the listings from the cemetery inscription books - wouldn't that be easier than having us submit our cemetery listings?  Almost all cemetery inscription books are copyrighted. We'd get in a lot of trouble if we just copied from them for the site.  Plus, having a "researcher" listed gives you another way to connect with long lost cousins and other folks researching the same individuals.

There are some cemetery listings with just the researcher symbol and no name.  Who was the submitter?  Those are cases where the information was sent in through Add-A-Grave, but the researcher's name and email address wasn't filled out on the form.  If you see one of these that's yours, let me know and we'll get you added.

Why aren't my ancestors listed together?  All the cemetery listings pages are set up to be in alphabetical order to make it easy to locate the listings.  Unfortunately, this separates some family members.  Currently, we are working on some additional "family plot" pages that would reunite these ancestors.

How do I add my family's cemetery listings to the Crawford County site? What are those symbols on the cemetery pages?

It's easy to add your ancestors to the cemetery listings.  Just click here to get Add-A-Grave submit form.  Be sure to include your name and email address on the form so we can list you as the researcher.

A few frequently asked questions.

How do I get photos of the headstone added to the cemetery listings?  That's easy to, you can just email me the photos.  Be sure to tell me which cemetery they belong in.  Don't have a scanner?  You can mail me the photos - or the negatives.  I'll scan them and send them back.  Email me for my mailing address.  Click here to see an example of one of the headstone photos.

What are those little symbols on the cemetery pages?

Headstone photo.  View example. See above.

Biography. A link to a biography of the deceased. How to send in a biography.

Photograph of the deceased. How to send in a photo.

Obituary of the deceased. How to send in an obituary.

Researcher, usually the submitter of the material
More family information.  Here's an example.  See below.
More military information on the deceased. Here's an example.

Pension application or information on the deceased.

Will of the deceased.

How did I get a more information card?  When you submit an Add-A-Grave, you'll see the section that says "more information" - type in more information on the individual.  If the information is too long to fit comfortably in the "other" column on the cemetery listings pages, then it's usually put on the "more" card and linked with the small tree and the word more.  Click here to view an example.
