Old School House Museum
The museum is housed in one of the rooms of the former Dauphin School House, where memorabilia of the area's past is on display. Items in the museum capture the area's rich history and have been donated by or are on loan from the public.
In conjunction with the Room Improvement Project improvements have been made to the museum in 2008, which includes the addition of new displays, such as:
· Hands on History, an interactive display for children and adults. Children can also follow "Click the Camera," a little cartoon camera, on signs around the museum to learn more about children in Dauphin-Middle Paxton's past. ("Click" is based at a 5th grade reading level.) Scavenger hunts and coloring sheets are also available for children as well. This year Hands on History is “A Blast From Our Past,” focusing on the iron industry in Dauphin and Middle Paxton Township.
· Veterans of Dauphin-Middle Paxton
· Doctors of Dauphin-Middle Paxton
· Memories of Alice Stroh
· Then & Now (photos of Dauphin-Middle Paxton’s past)
· And more!
