Cemetery Readings Needed

The Erie Society for Genealogical Research (ESGR) has had an ongoing multi-year project to record gravestone "readings" of every known cemetery in Erie County. These readings, for the most part, are maintained by ESGR in their library research facility on the second floor of the Erie Historical Society building at 417-419 State Street, while some have been made available via this Erie County (PA) Genealogy web site, and other Internet sites. As a part of this site's effort to make information available to the Internet researching public, and at the same time support the efforts of ESGR, a listing has been previously provided by Dick Tefft indicating those cemeteries for which a new "reading" is needed. However, at this time (November 2007), the listing has been removed. This is at the request of Dick Tefft, who has advised that the project is inactive at this time.

Anyone wishing to assist ESGR in any future cemetery reading effort should contact Dick Tefft who will advise you with regard to the effort.
