1877 Deed - Steenberg to McKendree

Contributed by Evelyn Baker

The document below is an 1877 land deed transcribed by Evelyn Baker, who has submitted it for posting to this web site. John & Kathleen Szympruch are the present owners of the old Steenberg farm, located on Steenberg Road in Springfield Township. John serves on the Springfield Township Council. They have lived on the 18.7 rolling acres for over 20 years. They own a unique collection of Steenberg history. John laments, "I put 10 gallons of tar on the roof, but the old barn still leaks". The barn is pictured below, followed by the transcribed copy of the deed. The Szympruch's may be contacted at email: shampoo@velocity.net. Anyone having questions or comments concerning this material, please send your inquiry directly to Evelyn Baker.
