"Deed: Betsey Thompson, Joel Thompson, Aritta Thompson, Medad Thompson, Phoebe Thompson, Polly Hall, Hiram Thompson, Edmond Thompson, Anna Thompson, Muhilda Thompson, David W. Hays, Marinda Hase, Harrison Howard, Ester Howard, William Thompson and Hulda Thompson, heirs of David Thompson deceased. Of the township of Springfield, County of Erie, State of Pennsylvania, of the first part and Oliver Alford of the Township, County and State aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars of lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, remitted, released, aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grand, bargain, sell, remise, release, alien and confirm unto the said party of the second part and to them and to their heirs and assigns forever. All that piece of parcel of land lying and being in the township aforesaid, bounded and described as follows, to wit: beginning at a Chestnut Stake, the highway at the northwest corner running west ninety seven rods by lands of John Quinsey to an Oak tree, thence south forty two and a half rods by land of Harshorns to a Hemlock stake, thence west ninety seven rods to a stone on the highway, thence north along said highway to the place of beginning to contain 25 acres of land more or less, And one other piece of land situate in the Town, County aforesaid, beginning at the north west corner at a hemlock stake and thence south thirty three...(probably chains) west fifty four rods to a maple stake, Jos(eph) Hartshorns, thence east twenty rods to an Ash stake by land of William Gould, thence north one hundred and fifty seven rods to an Oak Stake, thence north thirty three...east fifty four rods to a Hemlock Stake by land of Sanford Harvey, thence twenty rods to the place of beginning by lands of said Hartshorns, containing twenty five acres of land the two pieces to contain fifty acres of land be the same more or less, to have and to hold. Together with all and singular the houses, buildings, ways, waters, woods, rights, privileges, and appurtenances thereunto belonging and the rents and profits thereof. And also the estate, interest, claim and demand whatsoever of them, the said heirs and widow of the aforesaid David Thompson, deceased in law and equity to the same unto the said Oliver Alford his heirs and assigns forever., And the parties of the first part unto the party of the second part against all lawful claims and demands whatsoever will forever warrant and defend. In witness whereof, the parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written.
