February 28, 2010 Updated as many pages as possible to reflect 2010 copyright statement, and the fact that "worldnet" is no longer a part of the email address. Updated the home page to reflect current date and to indicate continued no theme for March. Created a 2008 "What's New" archive page and moved 2008 data to that new page.
March 3, 2009 to February 27, 2010 Essentially no work was done to this website. My apologies to all who have contributed and not had work posted.

Added a new Newspaper Extracts feature page titled Vital Records From Chicago Area Newspapers: 1833-1848 as contributed by Susan Smith. Linked this feature page to the Newspaper Extracts index page and to the Everything Else Misc index page. Updated all previously mentioned index pages with 2009 copyright information.
January 22, 2009 Updated the Links index page to include the Penn State Digital Newspapers link for the Erie Observer newspapers from 1853 to 1869. Susan Smith had suggested that the same link listed on the Military index page was misleading as these digital images of the newspapers were complete papers, containing vital genealogy material, more than just miliary. Verified and updated a number of the other links listed on this Links index page. Announced Betty Brock as new Elk Creek helper/coordinator by updating the Elk Creek Township page and the Township Index page. Updated two pages previously contributed by Betty Brock to reflect a new email address.
January 14, 2009 Updated Erie County Military index page to include a new off-site link provided by Susan Smith for a Dept of Navy library article on the Battle of Lake Erie and the building of the fleet. Extracted all 2007 notices from this What's New page to a 2007 Archive page.
January 2, 2009 Updated home page welcome letter to include Happy New Year greeting. Updated Copyright page to reflect 2009.

March 1, 2001 Mike Wennin has turned this web site and the County Coordinator duties over to Bill Klauk. Mike will now devote his time back to his Cameron County site, but will still be involved as a contributor to the site. A BIG THANK YOU to Mike for getting the site to its current state.
From Bill Klauk on March 1, 2001. As I continue the work started by Jeff LaMarca and revitalized by Mike Wennin, I am leaving Mike's post from August 29, 2000, as it is still appropriate. As a TEAM effort, we can make this site a premier research site for genealogy in Erie County (PA).
August 29, 2000 After 4 years of designing and building this great Erie County site, County Coordinator, Jeff La Marca, has turned over the site to Mike Wennin. Mike and several volunteers who will be named later, hope to continue to build the site with the same dedication, care and quality that Jeff has put into it these past 4 years. We thank Jeff for all the time and hard work that he has put into this site and appreciate the foundation that he has laid for what is about to become THE internet source for Erie County Genealogy and History!
From Mike Wennin: "Our first order of business is to set up pages to receive the huge volume of information that folks are offering to post. We hope to soon have census records, cemetery readings, old and new photos of Erie County and much much more. This will be team project with participation and contribution from many of you who are interested in Erie County's rich history and the exciting Heritage of her people.
On going changes will be posted in the What's New section of the revised site and will be reported to the PAERIE email group. As the pages expand, I ask that you help put out the word that something is happenin' at Erie County Genealogy! You folks who are researching Erie County are extremely fortunate that there is TONS information out there on the County. We hope to bring as much of it as possible to the site, so that we will truly become THE internet source for Erie County Genealogy and History!
I am looking forward to our partnership!"
Check back here often to see what is new. Changes will also be posted to the PAERIE mail list as time permits.
