December 31, 2000 Added page with picture of Old Almshouse to Old Time Photo page. Added link to a Zing album provided by Joseph Schmitt to both Old Time Photo page and to the Faces of Erie County page. Started Bibliography page although much more work is needed.

December 19, 2000 Current Photo index page updated and revised. Links were not verified so if anyone finds a problem, please advise Bill Klauk.

December 18, 2000 A new Military page has been added, and thanks to Rick Landers, 3 pages of World War 1 Erie Co servicemen who died during that war. Anyone else with Erie County Military material that you would like to see posted, please provide information to Bill Klauk who will see that it is posted.

December 16, 2000 All 1896 township maps have now been upload. Home page links have been realigned under revised categories, including putting all GenConnect boards under one heading, and adding a direct link to the Queries.

December 13, 2000 Township Maps extracted from Nelson's 1896 Erie County History are being posted to the site. Eventually, each township page will have a link to its 1896 map, plus all maps can be viewed via a new entry on the Old Maps page. Currently only about 8 of the counties have been posted, but more will be added every day.

December 12, 2000 New page added under Cemetery Records for Old Almshouse Cemetery. New page added for Emerson Family Portrait to Old Time Photo page.

December 11, 2000 Cosmetic changes made to several pages. Millcreek Township pages refreshed with link to the Bates History and link to the schools album. Old Time Photo page created to allow addition of more albums and pages. More changes coming this week.

November 5, 2000 Added links to the 1800 census and the 1890 census for the Soldiers & Sailors Home.  Added links to St. Franicis Xavier, West Springfield, Francis and the Dunn Family Cemeteries.  Updated the Girard Township site with several selections from Nelson's thanks to Chris.  Added links to the NSGS maps of Erie County online.

October 9, 2000 Added the 1890 Veterans Census for Summit County thanks to Barb Seyler!  Also added Welcome notes for Summit and Le Boeuf Township Hosts Barb Seyler and Audry Mascharka.

October 8, 2000  Added 14 chapters to Bates History!!!  Thanks Gayle!  Added 8 links to Bill's photo collection!  Thanks Bill!  I have a bunch more to add in the next couple of days!

September 27, 2000 Added 6 more chapters to Bates history.  Most all of the Townships are listed now.  Added some early settlers to Summit townships. More to come!  Thanks to Gayle and Barb for the latest contributions!  Please let me know if you find any broken links!

September 23, 2000 Added 15 Cemetery readings! There are now 14 Chapters of Bates' History of Erie County online. Added a reunion calendar to remind relatives when the family reunion is.  Folks have been very active in posting Obituaries- 158 online; Biographies -31 online; Queries- 95 on the new site! Make sure you add your surnames to the site and post queries....traffic is increasing and more folks will be looking for you! There are current maps onlinenow and some some links, including what is available for Erie County from the Family History Centers. Thanks to all of you who are making this possible!

September 10, 2000 Added 40 photos to the Old-Time photo album.

September 6, 2000 Added Bill's introduction to Millcreek Township and Chapters 4 and 5 of Bates History of Erie County thanks to Gayle. Added Chris and Sara as Township Hosts for Girard and Washington Townships. Working on other pages that will be added soon.

September 4, 2000 Added Bate's introduction to Erie County from the 1884 book (under History) thanks to Gaylene Kerr Banister! Sorry there was not much else today...had to take a break! More tomorrow!

September 3, 2000 Not sure where to start!  Added "Dee's Trivia", "Grandma's Scrap Book", linked to old maps of Erie, Union City, Corry, Edinborough. Added History of Summit County, Set up pages for all of the Townships and the City of Erie,  Added Bill Klauk and Chris as hosts for Millcreek and Girard Townships. Let me know which Township you want to be responsible for!  I will spend the next little while getting caught up on the info you folks have already sent me...posting the new stuff as I go along.  If I missed anyone's contribution, remind me! Gaylene Kerr Banister has uploaded over 60 Obituaries!

September 2, 2000  Posted the new site.  Check back often for additions!

August 29, 2000  After 4 years of designing and building this great Erie County site, County Coordinator, Jeff La Marca, has turned over the site to me.  We (myself and several volunteers who will be named as we go along)  hope to continue to build the site with the same dedication, care and quality that Jeff has put into it these past 4 years. We thank Jeff for all the time and hard work that he has put into this site and appreciate the foundation that he has laid for what is about to become THE internet source for Erie County Genealogy and History!
