Due to a medical problem, Ward Waldo was forced to withdraw his coordination of this township. A big thank you to Ward for the effort that he was able to put in as coordinator. Ward's cemetery pictures site is still on-line at : http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cempics/. After several months without a coordinator, another volunteer has stepped forward. A thank you to several others who asked about this township. Welcome to Conneaut Township. I am your new township coordinator, Andy Pochatko. I am not a resident of this area, but I have spent many wonderful days of my childhood here. I am from Conneaut, Ohio, only a couple miles away from Conneaut Township. There I am the youngest historian of the Conneaut Area Historical Society. History books write that the name Conneaut comes from a Seneca word meaning "river of many fish" and "place where snow lies in spring." Since I have experienced the weather around this area and I know of the great fishing that is done in Conneaut creek I am inclined to think both. I look forward to helping you in the future! Please send an email message to me with your questions and/or comments concerning this township. --- Andy Pochatko |
