New
Coordinator February 2005 Hello, and Welcome to McKean Township! My name is Susan Groh
and I have volunteered to be a township
coordinator. McKean Township has been my home since 2001, although my
ties to it run a longer time span. My father, Mike Groh, lived in
McKean when he was a boy, and purchased two farms here in the 1950's.
One was the
farm at which he lived as a child; one was a neighboring property. I
have many memories of happy times spent in McKean, and was very glad
that I was able to settle on the farm property where my father's
family lived. McKean Borough's Centennial in 1961 was a huge event that my family
attended, and I think it would be wonderful to share pictures from the
event! If you have any data about schools, class photos, school buildings,
lists of students and/or teachers, cemeteries, biographies, or other
items of genealogical interest for McKean Township, please contact me.
I would like to help post maps, pictures, or any other information that
could help others find their roots. I love history, and would like to
learn more about McKean Township's people and places, past and present.
Please feel free to send me e-mail at s.groh@yahoo.com. Thank you. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Susan Groh |
