We of the Great Valley Chapter NSDAR of Paoli, Pennsylvania, are delighted that you have chosen to visit our website and sincerely hope that you will consider becoming a member. Any woman is eligible for membership who is not less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.

The chapter was organized by Mrs. Frederick Held in April, 1965, with seventeen other charter members in attendance. Located in Paoli, Pennsylvania, the Great Valley Chapter derives its name from the fact that Paoli is part of the rich tract of Southeastern Pennsylvania land that Welsh Quaker settlers purchased through the intervention of William Penn in 1682 known as the “Great Valley.”
In April 2003 the Merion-Dr. Rush Chapter merged with the Great Valley Chapter. Today we have nearly 150 members from Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties as well as Pennsylvania at large, the United States and Europe.
We are a service organization dedicated to pursuing the objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR):
- Historic Preservation
- Promotion of Education
- Promotion of Patriotic Endeavor
The Great Valley Chapter also sponsors the Signal Hill Society, Children of the American Revolution, (C.A.R.). Any boy or girl under the age of twenty-one is eligible for membership who can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who directly aided in the cause of American independence.
