DEAN

Larry Dean

DEAN surname in Pennsylvania I have traced my paternal line back to George W. DEAN, born 1786 in Pennsylvania. I have reason to believe that Allegheny, Bedford, Blair and Huntingdon are the most likely counties of his birth and life until about 1818 when he and his young family emigrated to Ontario, Canada. I have good reason to believe that he was of German descent. I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has information that might be a connection to this family. I have considerable information on his descendants which I would be more than happy to share. Thanks in advance for any replies I get.

DRAKE

Richard O. Johnson

The 1790 census shows a Benjamin Drake living in Huntingdon co. PA. Is this the same Benjamin Drake whose children subsequently turn up in Warren and Van Buren cos. TN and Madison co. AR? Did he marry in Huntingdon co. or its predecessors? (Some have claimed his wife was Sarah Buchanan, but no marriage record has been found.)

DRAKE

Jack Drake

I show a Joseph Drake and a Benjamin Drake on the 1790 census in Huntingdon County, PA. What was their relationship if any? I'm trying to find a father-son relationship with Joseph being the father, and Benjamin being the son. Benjamin supposedly married Sarah(Sally)Buchannan and they had children named Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Elijah. Benjamin and his sons moved shortly after the 1790 census from Huntingdon County, PA to Carter County, TN. Later Isaac, Jacob and Elijah moved on to Warren County, TN. leaving their father Benjamin and their brother Abraham in Carter County where they died and were buried. No one can seem to find Benjamin's father and mother. There was an article in the Historical Reminenses of Carter County TN, where it states that Joseph had two sons named John and Benjamin, and this is the reason I'm writing this query to try and tie Joseph and Benjamin together. If you or someone could answer this puzzling question, a whole bunch of us Benjamin researchers would be forever grateful. Thanks.
