My great uncle was Fred Taubar (Tauber). The son of Paul Otto and Mary Ann Vaughan Tauber, he was born 1888, in Pittston Pa and died January 1964 in Wyoming, PA. At a fairly early age he moved to Scranton and owned and operated a Bar/Hotel business for many years. He was married, had a Son Frederick John Tauber. He and his wife (Marie) divorced after only a short marriage. If you have any information on my great uncle and his business, I would appreciate hearing from you.

I am researching for a man who has had a stroke and cannot do it on his own. His ancestor lived in Archbald Twp., Lackawanna Co.,PA. I found his ancestor, Christopher Miller, in 1880 there. But, Christopher would be a child in the 1870 census and I would need to find him in Luzerne County in 1870. I can't seem to find a Archbald Twp. in Luzerne Co in 1870. Does anyone know what township name I need to be looking for in Luzerne in 1870 which later, in 1878, became Archbald now in newly formed Lackawanna County? Any help you can give me on this I would appreciate. Thanks.

I am trying to find out info on my grandparents Patrick GODWIN (buried Nov. 28, 1932) and Anna KELLEY GODWIN (buried April 16, 1923). They had four sons( William, John, Joseph, and Patrick (my father), and a daughter Mary BROGAN (Mrs. Edward BROGAN). My granfather also had a surviving brother, William and a sister Mrs. Edward HENNIGAN who lived at 630 Cherry Street. I obtained this info from the "Scranton Times" obituaries.
Anna KELLEY GODWIN (Mrs. Patrick Godwin) had a sister,Mrs. Patrick MCLAUGHLIN of 646 Maple Street and Mrs.Bridget MCLAIN, and Mrs. John Kelly. My grandfather Patrick GODWIN worked or resided at Hyde Park Hotel 129 South Main St. Another family address was 724 Fig Street. It is unclear if the Godwins at 502 Monroe were related.
Although my father listed himself as being born PATRICK FRANCIS GODWIN in Scranton on May 19, 1907, I could only get a NO RECORD certificate from Vital Records. I am seeking death information from certificates but do not know if their birthdates or ages or places will be forthcoming.
