I am trying to contact 2 Baptist Churches in Scranton, but think their names have changed and the records may be somewhere else. The North Main Avenue Baptist church was located at the corner of Main Street and Oak Ave. The Emmanuel Baptist Church was located at Jefferson Ave and Mulberry Street, now part of Scranton University. Does anyone have any information on these churches and where their records may now be located? My great great grandfather Peter Aten and great great grandmother Anna Carpenter may have been married at one of these churches around 1875. Their first child was born 1876 so I am assuming the marraige to have taken place a year or 2 prior to this. The city of Scranton's records do not go back this far. If anyone can help, or give me any suggestions of where else to look for the marraige records I would appreciate it very much. Karen Aten Hillman
