Eugene C. Gardner, 41, 851 Meegan Ave., died Sunday evening in New
Castle Hospital apparently of a heart attack.
He was born in New Castle, Jan. 3, 1919, to the
late William F. Gardner and Emma Gardner Gardner, who survives. On Aug.
24, 1942, he married Louise Jenkins. Mr. Gardner was employed by
Universal-Rundle Corp. of New Castle.
Survivors include his mother in Jefferson, OH;
his wife and children: Eugene, Francis, Frederick, Joseph and Emmie Lou
Gardner at home in New Castle; his sisters, Miss Martina Gardner,
Jefferson, OH; Mrs. John A. (Rita Mae) Grodek, Cleveland, OH; Sister
Laboure of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, OH; brothers: Edward
T. and Donald R. Gardner, both in Spring Valley, CA; Francis M. Gardner,
Lisbon, OH; and Joseph M. Gardner, Cleveland, OH.
The body is at McGonigle Funeral Home. A
Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary Church with
burial in the church cemetery.
