Frances M. Ackerman - Former Shenango Junior High School principal and English instructor

Frances Ackerman of 1906 Stanton Ave., died yesterday in St. Francis Hospital after a short illness.

Miss Ackerman attended Slippery Rock Normal, Geneva College and graduated from Duke University. She was on the staff of the Shenango Township School District for 36 years and retired in 1957 after 46 years of continuous teaching.

She was born in New Castle to Lawrence and Mary McCarthy Ackerman and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Myra Meehan, and three nephews. Preceding her in death were a brother, Richard Ackerman; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gardner in 1962, Grace Ackerman in 1964 and Mrs. Rose B. Devlin in 1965; and her parents.
