Lucius E. Johnston, Sr., 84, of North Beaver Township, died in Jameson Hospital on June 9, 1996, following a three-year illness. Born in Anderson, AL on Jan. 31, 1912 he was the son of Samuel and Charlotte Dover Johnson/Johnston. He married the former Evelyn Binger Kennedy on Aug. 31, 1979. She survives.

Also surviving Mr. Johnston are two sons, Lucius E. (Gene) Johnston, Jr. of Union Township, and Dale R. Johnston of West Pittsburgh; two daughters, Mrs. John (Judith) Kadunce and Mrs. Tom (Patricia) Heaney both of Arnold, PA; three step-daughters; two sisters, Beulah Cioca of New Castle and Beatrice Fehrenbach of Warren, PA; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Hubert, Arthur, William Sidney and Leon Johnston and one sister, Bessie Rusu. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
