Enlisted 23 Sept 1861, at Lawrence Co. PA

Silas John Blair was born 22 Apr 1830 in Big Beaver Twp., Beaver Co, PA.

He was mortally wounded at the Battle of Fair Oaks, 23 June 1862, and died 12 July 1862 at the  Military Hospital, Annapolis, MD.

Silas John Blair is buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Darlington, Darlington Twp., Beaver Co., PA.

He married Mary Lorain, of Lawrence Co. Farmed in Lawrence 1852-1862.  After his death Mary and children stayed on the farm.
