Our Chapter:
The Monongahela Valley Chapter of the NSDAR was organized on February 28, 1920, by twenty-two ladies from California, Charleroi, Donora, Monongahela, Monessen, and Belle Vernon in the library of the California Normal School. Because these towns were all situated along the Monongahela River, the name Monongahela Valley was adopted. From this small beginning our chapter has evolved.

We have focused our efforts to locate many revolutionary soldiers' graves and have marked them. In 1985 our chapter, in conjunction with two other Washington County chapters, marked the graves of the parents of Caroline Scott Harrison, first President General of the NSDAR and wife of President Benjamin Harrison.

Chapter Officers for the years 2010-2013 are: Regent Nancy Komlos Vice Regent Sally Goodboy Secretary Dee Alekson Treasurer Beth Licciardello Registrar Amy Barbour Chaplain Ida Mae Walker Historian Leslie Yoder Librarian Leslie Yoder Parliamentarian Mary Holets Directors Mary Holets and June Bowden
