Any woman is eligible for membership in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution who is no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal, blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. They may have served as a sailor, soldier, or civil officer or rendered material aid to the cause of liberty for one of the several Colonies or States or in the United Colonies of States.
