Bowman was born in Sunderland England in 1836 and came to Danville in 1855.
He was married to Mary Jane hunt who was born in Sunderland in 1838 and arrived
in Danville in the 1850's. Mary Jane's uncle was John Foley, who came to
Danville from England in 1844 and was proprietor of the Rough and Ready Mill and
the Montour Iron & Steel Co. Mary Jane Hunt's sister was Sarah DeLong who
came from Dudley Castle, Lancaster, England, and whose son Frank DeLong settled
in Washingtonville and founded the DeLong Hook & Eye Company. William and
Mary Shepperson came from Leistershire, England in 1861 and 1860 respectively.
They lived at 715 Front St. in Danville, PA. William had a contracting
business in Danville of farms, horses etc.

PATTERSON, Rev. John Boyd and family. Rev. John Boyd Patterson,
long-time pastor of Derry Presbyterian Church, lived on a farm near
Washingtonville more than 50 years. He died on 08 May 1843 and was buried
in the Old Presbyterian cemetery along with his wife, Rebecca. They had a
son, Matthew, who was also a pastor. When their last daughter (Jane) died
in 1893 their heirs sold the farm and the family scattered. My g-g-f
Robert Patterson (b. 1819 in PA, d. 1898 in IL) m. Josepha McCay in 1845 in what
is now in Montour County. Jane Patterson's family Bible was listed in the
remains of the estate. Has a Patterson family Bible turned up in Montour
County or elsewhere?

POWELL family. George Lincoln Powell, b. Danville, PA 23 Sep 1862 to
John and Mary Powell. Moved to Chester, PA in 1888, and married Mary Alice
Jones (b. OH 1867, daughter of Wm. & Ann W. Jones) in Houtzdale, PA.
George & Mary lived in Chester, PA, where they had 3 children: Mary Alice,
b. 1890; Annie Gertrude, b. 1893; and George Andrew, b. 24 July 1895.
I have many documents on George L.'s family but very little on his parents.
Although it appears that the John and Mary Powell found in 1860 census in
Danville with several children are his parents and siblings, I cannot be certain
without more information. I hope my info helps someone with their research
and look forward to info on John and Mary or the parents of George L. Powell.

wife, Amanda, who lived in Liberty Twp. most of his life (1880 & 1900 census)
and then moved to Milton per the 1930 census. Charles was the son of
Samuel Robbins who is buried at Old Center Lutheran Cemetery. Would

SANDERS family. I am researching the family of Michael Sanders and
wife Martha. He was a Danville carpenter and later tax collector who died
in an 1872 fire. We think he had a son Daniel and daughter Effie (married
William Fetter). Michael's parents may have been Henry and Anna Maria
Sanders of Mahoning Twp. Can anyone shed more light?

SAVERY & MAYAN families. Carey Henry Savery came to Danville sometime
between 1880 - 1900. In 1900 he worked at the Bennett Mansion. In
1902 he married Henrietta Stangier at St. Hubert's Church. Son William E.
Savery married Hilda Elizabeth Mayan, d/o Fred & Elizabeth Mayan in 1929.
I have lots of Mayan info to share; am looking for help with the Savery side.

County on Christmas Day of 1824, orphaned when 18 months old and adopted by the
Joseph Kerr family, m. Hannah Carter, homesteaded in CA about 1852.

SHEPPERSON, HUNT, FOLEY, DELONG and BOWMAN families. William Joseph
Bowman was born in Sunderland England in 1836 and came to Danville in 1855.
He was married to Mary Jane Hunt who was born in Sunderland in 1838 and arrived
in Danville in the 1850's. Mary Jane's uncle was John Foley, who came to
Danville from England in 1844 and was proprietor of the Rough and Ready Mill and
the Montour Iron & Steel Co. Mary Jane Hunt's sister was Sarah DeLong who
came from Dudley Castle, Lancaster, England, and whose son Frank DeLong settled
in Washingtonville and founded the DeLong Hook & Eye Company. William and
Mary Shepperson came from Leistershire, England in 1861 and 1860 respectively.
They lived at 715 Front St. in Danville, PA. William had a contracting
business in Danville of farms, horses etc.

lived in Danville and father may be Thomas Sr , Lt, who died in Washington Twp,
Dauphin Co, PA 02 Jul 1790, Charles Yohe b 1826, and Benjamin Yohe b 1788 of
Schuylkill Co.. Also William or Samuel Swarts who lived in Mahoning Twp
1786-1795 but who moved to Jersey Shore to purchase land. Other surnames of
interest to me are Boyer, Roth, Plyler, Reitz, Hetrick, Price, Morrison, Quiggle,
Willets, Shurr, and Rosenkrans.

father. John, m great-grandfather, was born in PA about 1873 and married
Maude Roat from Danville. Both are buried in the Kase cemetery, Riverside.
His father was born in England and his mother in PA. The only information

ZEISLER family. Joseph Zeisler arrived in the US in April, 1881.
He and wife, Irma, are known to be in Montour Co. in 1883. The family were
Jewish and had a son at that time who may have died in the county.
Apparently moved to Peoria, IL by 1884. Would appreciate any information
