Shoemaker Photos

The following were contributed by Dick Shoemaker.  On the left are five men from Danville.  Standing in the center back is Dick's Great Uncle, Dan O. McCormick, who, in 1901, sold groceries and provisions at his store at 347 mill Street.  Sitting in the wicker chair on front right is a friend, D. McCloud.  Others are unidentified.

On the right is what is believed to be a wedding picture of Dick's Grandfather James McCormick and Alice Treas McCormick.  Standing is Uncle Daniel McCormick and Mary Fisher.

Dick believes these are some Treas sisters of his Grandmother.  Second from right is Lydia Treas Cochell.  He is guessing that they are Katie, Margaret McGee, Mary Ann (Mame) Morgan Hart and Lydia and Johanna Straley.  Dick would appreciate your contacting him at rjsmes@uplink.net if you have any information about the identity of any of the persons in the photographs. 

At right is what Dick believes to be a funeral procession.  Anybody know where it is?

Below is a photograph of Dick's Uncle Frank and the owner in front of the shoe store where he worked as a youngster.

Below right is a photo of Dick's mother Mary McCormack Shoemaker and his uncle Frank X. McCormack.  It could have been in front of 9 Northumberland Street.
