Kistler Fire Company - 1940
The fire company in Kistler, Wayne Township, organized in 1918.  They
started with two hand-drawn carts and two hand-drawn chemical carts, but
interest in the company waned and the community relied on nearby Mt.
Union for fire protection until 1927.  The company reorganized and
operated with hand-drawn carts until the purchase of this fire truck in
1938.  This photo was taken May 15, 1940 and was printed in the program
for the 61st Annual Convention of the Pennsylvania State Firemen's
Association held that October in Mifflin County.  The Coleman Hotel
Ballroom hosted the event.
