GEORGE. Benjamin was b. in Chautaqua Co., NY, and d.
abt 1866 in Mercer Co., PA. I am interesting in finding out when/where
they were married, where they are buried, and her death date.
Seeking info. on Jonathan and Charity SOPHER. Jonathan
came to Mercer Co. from NJ around 1830. I have no data on them.
Also seeking info. about Isaac SOPHER, son of Jonathan and
Charity, and Orsina MEDBERY/MEDBERRY, dau. of Benjamin and
Lydia. Looking for marriage/death info. Isaac and Orsina moved to
Venango Co., PA. Lydia lived with them after Benjamin died. Isaac
and Orsina's son, Gilbert (Bert) SOPHER, moved to WI as a
young man. Any info. appreciated.

GEHM, m. Dec 2, 1851 to Anna Katherine
KOLB. I am not sure if they were m. in Mercer Co., but
their first two children were b. in Greenville, Mercer Co. They were
Mary GEHM, b. Jun 23, 1853, and Barbara P.
GEHM, b. Aug 20, 1856. His wife and in-laws emigrated from Germany about May 11, 1850. In all my family records, there is no
mention of Adam GEHM coming with the KOLB
family. I can only guess that he may have already have been in the area
when my KOLB ancestors arrived. Can anyone help?

Jan 3, 1803 in Fairview Twp., Butler Co., PA, d. Jul 26, 1886 at his sister's
(Elizabeth McCLAIN) home in Harrison Co., OH. He
had a sister Frances PHIPPS, a brother William
HALL, and another sister Elizabeth
McCLAIN. His first wife was Mary
NEARON, second wife was Aleinda __?__, and third wife was
Sarah __?__. John HALL was a tanner and lived most of
his adult life in the city of Allegheny (Pittsburgh northside) and in
Pittsburgh. John HALL's obituary ends with
"Sharon please copy." The obituary was published in a
Pittsburgh newspaper. The reference to "Sharon" leads me to
believe that he had relatives in Mercer Co., PA since the Sharon newspaper
was alerted to publish his obituary. Any info. would be appreciated.

disappears from the 1850 census, however the following is shown for the
family of Henry: Henry BRANDON, age 64, farmer, 1350
acres, b. in PA; Jane BRANDON, age 61, b. in PA; Sarah
BRANDON, age 30, b. in PA; Samuel BRANDON,
age 21, farmer, b. in PA; Martha BRANDON, age 18, b. in PA;
Louisa L. BRANDON, age 15, b. in PA. From another
source, a list of the officials of Wolf Creek Twp. 1820-1830, includes James
BRANDON as constable and both James and Henry as
supervisors. Any comment on the origins of this family would be most
helpful.

more. BATES' and BETTS' helped settle
Mercer Co. and are written up in the history books. Andrew
BETTS was a Revolutionary War vet who donated the land for

surname DEAN. I reside in Pulaski Co., MO. From
what I have found so far, all of my family's roots apparently point back to
the Mercer Co., PA area. William Crocker DEAN is the
name of my possible gg-grandfather. The break I have starts with my
grandfather Sylvester (Vester) DEAN. I know there is a
connection between Sylvester DEAN and William Croker
DEAN, but I haven't been able to point to it. Any

Twp. on the 1830 census. He m. abt 1818 to Jane
McDONALD. She was b. 4 Dec 1803 in PA. Would
like to find date of their marriage. They had a son, Sanderson, which
may be a given name in her family. William and Jane removed to LaGrange
Co., IN by 1840 where she d. 18 Mar 1878. Also looking for a marriage
of Lorinda EASTLICK to possibly a George W.
REED. Alexander EASTLICK was living
in Cool Springs Twp. on the 1850 census. He is shown living with a
Nancy, age 36, b. in PA, with the following children: Catherine, age 14, b.
probably Trumbull Co., OH and then the family probably moved back to Mercer
Co. where rest of children were born; William, age 11; Nancy, age 9; Sarah,
age 7; James, age 5; Martha and Rosanna, age 3, twins; and Joseph, age
2/12. Has anybody ran across this family? Any info. on the
EASTLICK family would be greatly appreciated.
Jacob OMSTEAD and his wife, Elizabeth
VANNATIE??, were living in French Creek Twp. on the 1830
census. I think they came to Mercer Co. sometime around 1820 from
Fallowfield, Crawford Co. The following children were b. in Mercer Co.:
Anna, b. 11 Oct 1820; Jacob Jr., b. 8 Sep 1824; and Nelson Gidem
OMSTEAD, b. 30 May 1831. The family moved west to
LaGrange Co., IN by 1833. There were a couple of children they were
supposed to have had that I have been unable to find: John, Jonathan,
Luricia, and Betsey. Is there anybody that might have any info. on this
family? Thanks.
