My father was Generoso "Rosie" Pastore of Rosie's Barber Shop
off State St in Sharon, Pa. He passed in 1964. Immigrated to America from
Italy in June of 1923. He married my mother, Pauline Sasala and they lived
at 505 Thornton Ave. My mother worked at the Sharon Country Club and
Shenango Inn as a waitress for many years.
My mother had
5 brothers and 5 sisters, born in New Mine and moved to Halls Furnace.
Margaret Herrick, Annie Sgro who moved to Kittanning Pa upon her marriage,
Mary Buynak resided in Farrell then on 2255 Rumbold (spelling?) Road,
Helen Kelly who lives with me at the ripe old age of 88, my mother Pauline
who passed in January of 95 and Theresa "Tillie" Schatz who
lived at 590 Thornton. The boys, George and Michael Sasala of Cleveland,
Oh, Steve now resided in New Castle at the age of 90, John, 84, still
resided in Sharon with his son and daughter in law and Joseph formerly of
Fox Chapel in Pittsburgh who had been drafted by the Steelers and had been
inducted into the Duke football hall of fame. There were 7
grandchildren.
My father came
to America at the age of 15/16 yrs and became a barber. Had a cousin also
a barber named Chiefo. Had relatives in Youngstown. I would love to find
them, cousins, great aunts/uncles/whatever or whoever there may be. Enjoy
