To all persons to whom these presents shall come Greeting. know ye that we John M. Kerr and Anna Kerr wife of the said John Kerr and Josiah Coulter and Anna Coulter wife of the said Josiah Coulter of Salem Township in the County of Mercer and State of Pennsylvania for the consideration of Twenty Dollars recd to our full satisfaction of Geo. Foulk, Joseph Jagges, John Osborn, Samuel P. Turner end Samuel Rhodes, Trustees of Methodist Episcopal Church do give, grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto them the said Geo. Foulk, Joseph Jagges, John Osborn, Samuel R. Turner and Samuel Rhodes trustees as aforesaid and their sucessors in office forever in trust for the said church, a certain Piece of land lying in said Township of Salem, and bounded as follows. Beginning at a postion the line of the publik highway about twelve rods west of the COULTER SCHOOL-HOUSE (so called) thence South 85 degrees east eight rods to a post 2 thence. South 5 degrees West eight rods to a post thence South 85 degrees West ten rods to a post thence North 5 degrees East ten rods to the place of beginning containing one half acre of land to have and to hold the above granted and bargained promises with the appurtenances there unto belonging unto them the said Geo. Foulk, Joseph Jagges, John Osborn, Samuel R. Turner and Samuel Rhodes, trustees in trust as aforesaid and their successors in office forever in trust that they shall erect and build or cause to be erected and built thereon a house or place of worship for the use of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in said Township and in further trust and confidence that they shall at all times forever hereafter permit such ministers and preacher belonging to said church as shall from time to time be duly authorized to preach and expound Gods holy word and administer the sacraments and execute the discipline therein. And we the said John N. Kerr and Anna Kerr wife of the said John N. Kerr and Josiah Coulter and Anna Coulter wife of the said Josiah Coulter do for ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns covenant with them the said trustees aforesaid named and their successors in office that at and until the insealing of these presents we are well (seized) of the premises as good indefeasible estate in fee simple and the same is free from all encumbrances whatsoever and further more we the said John N. Kerr and Anna Kerr wife of the said John N. Kerr and Josiah Coulter and Anna Coulter wife of the said Josiah Coulter do by these presents (bidnd?) ourselves and our heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted and bargained premises unto them the said Geo. Foulk, Joseph Jaggas, John Osborn, Samuel R. Turner and Samuel Rhodes trustees as aforesaid and their successors in office against all claims and damages whatsoever. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals, this seventeenth day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and fifty six.

Before me a Justice of the Peace personally appraised the above named John N. Kerr and Ann his wife & Josiah Coulter & Ann his wife and acknowledged the above Indenture to be their act and deed and desired It to be recorded as such. Witness my hand and seal the seventeenth day of May 1856
