The following 1840 census transcriptions for Mercer County, PA, were contributed by John MacDonald. He has graciously made these freely available to all Mercer County researchers. However, he still retains all rights to these compilations and strictly forbids any commercial use of his work.
Mahoning, Slippery Rock, and Neshannock Townships (as well as part of Shenango and Lackawannock Townships) and the Borough of New Castle became part of Lawrence County.
Unsure where each township was, consult the 1840 Mercer County map.
