Samuel
Glenn was
born 22 Dec 1794, son of John Glenn,
an Irish immigrant. The family moved to Mercer
County in 1804.
Samuel
Glenn was in the War of 1812, served Mill Creek
township as justice of the peace for about forty years;
voted the Whig, afterward the Republican ticket, and was a
member of the Rocky Spring United Presbyterian Church.
He
was married to Jennie (Janny) Barr Glenn.
She died in 1855. Their children
were Eliza, Mrs. John Brandon; John;
Margeret, Mrs. James Pinkerton; David, Mary, Martha,
Matilda and Samuel, in Erie County, Penn.; Jane,
Mrs. Joseph Stevens, of French Creek Township.
Samuel
Glenn died 7 Jan 1859 and is buried in Glenn
Gilliland Cemetery in Mill Creek Township, along with
Jennie (Janny) Barr Glenn and several of their
children.
