his diary), 26 Feb 1864 (according to War 

Department Records)

Prisoner of War - -captured in VA;

Imprisoned at Libby, Belle Island, and 

Salisbury Prisons.  Released from Salisbury 

22 Feb 1865.

Adam Rupert was the son of Phillip and Leah Rahauser Rupert.  He married Hannah McDowell and was the father of Luella, who married William B. Wilson, and Adam, who drowned at 16 years of age due to falling through ice while skating.

Luella was the mother of Mary Isabel Wilson, born 21 Mar 1906 and married Claude E. Manley. (Grandparents to researcher Myra Manley Watkins.)

Adam Rupert died 1 Apr 1865, from yellow fever and starvation.  He died in Pine Township, just four miles from his home.
