Nathan Trine was born 9 Nov 1838 to Peter and Catherine Wendling Trine.  Nathan was born on the family's farm.  Peter and Catherine are buried in Jerusalem Reformed Cemetery in Otter Creek Township in Mercer County.  Nathan's brother Daniel also served in the same unit in the Civil War.

 

Nathan Trine married three times.  The first to Susan Ann Kitch, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ann Bigler Kitch on 12 Jun 1860.  (Susan Ann was born 30 Apr 1840 in Kitches Corners, Mercer County.)  He also married Pamela Wayne and Lucinda Carter.

 

With Susan Ann, he had seven children:  Henry Harrison Trine (born 15 Jan 1862), Samuel Trine (who lived only Apr-May 1866) and Edward Trine (born 7 Jul 1868), who were all born in Mercer County, PA.  

 

Minnie May Trine Crouch (born 8 Nov 1873), Cora Belle Trine Roberts (born 23 May 1878), Elmer Willis Trine (born 8 Mar 1880) and Frank Trine (born 16 Feb 1883) were all born after Nathan and Susan Ann and the family moved to a farm in Taylor County, Kentucky.

 

Nathan Trine died 14 Sept 1897 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., Kentucky.  He and his first wife, Susan Ann, are buried in Elkhorn Cemetery in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., Kentucky.
