The
first Methodist preaching in the township, was in the Reznor
neighborhood, at the residence of William Smith,
and various other private houses. About 1820, the neighbor
assembled and built a church, the remains of which are still standing
[1877] on the farm of David Reznor.
The site was deeded by George Reznor, and
dedicatory sermon preached by Rev. Mr.
Graham. The building was free for the use of all
Evangelical denominations, but the Methodists had general charge of
it. It has been abandoned for years.

As
early as 1820 the Methodists built a house of worship on the farm of George
Reznor, who deeded the site. The building was open to all religious
denominations, but the Methodists seem to have had the control, Rev.
Mr. Graham preaching the dedicatory sermon. The house was abandoned
many years ago.
